Itinerary

Day 1: Tangier – Arrival and Transfer to Chefchaouen

  • You will be picked up at Tangier’s airport or port and driven to Chefchaouen, a town historically framed as a hidden mythical stronghold on the north coast, originally closed to Europeans until the Spanish entry in 1920.
  • Arrival in Chefchaouen is expected in the late afternoon, and you will stay there for two nights.

Day 2: Exploring Chefchaouen

  • After breakfast, spend the day exploring Chefchaouen, a sacred mountain town nestled within a natural biosphere reserve.
  • The locals, kind and welcoming, dress in white and blue, offering visitors stunning urban vistas, excellent examples of traditional handicrafts, and a serene atmosphere that’s increasingly rare.

Day 3: Chefchaouen to Fez

  • Continue your journey to Fez, an imperial city with roots tracing back to the 8th century.
  • Fez is renowned as one of Morocco’s historic Islamic holy centers and home to one of the world’s oldest universities. The afternoon is free for relaxation and your first immersion in a city that seems to transport you back in time.

Day 4: Fez Sightseeing with a Local Guide

  • Breakfast at notable Fez establishments, followed by a guided tour of the city.
  • As you wander the medina, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. The traditional guild system persists in crafts, the narrow streets accommodate little more than pedestrians and donkeys, and a persistent flow of people moves through the labyrinthine alleys.
  • Fez is a remarkable neighborhood of Andalusian influence, with magnificent mosques and Qur’anic schools. It has long been associated with study and religion and remains Morocco’s spiritual capital. Overnight at a hotel or riad.

Day 5: Fez – Meknes – Volubilis – Meknes

  • After breakfast, travel west to Volubilis, one of Morocco’s most important archaeological sites and a landmark of Roman heritage.
  • You’ll have free time to explore the Volubilis region, with an option to join a local guide to learn more about these major sites.
  • After admiring the Roman ruins, proceed to Moulay Idriss (Moulay Idris), one of the country’s most significant pilgrimage sites.
  • Next, visit the town of Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. You’ll have free time in Meknes to dine and tour its main attractions, including the sprawling souks and café-filled squares. Overnight at a hotel or riad.

Day 6: Meknes – Rabat – Asilah

  • After breakfast, depart toward Asilah, stopping in Rabat along the way.
  • In Rabat, visit key sights such as the Royal Palace, Mohammed V Mausoleum, Hassan Tower, and Kasbah of the Udayas.
  • In the afternoon, continue to Asilah for a relaxing stroll through the pristine white-washed medina. Overnight in Asilah.

Day 7: Asilah – Tangier Airport / Tangier City Center / Tangier Port

  • Breakfast, then transfer to Tangier airport or port as your tour concludes.
